I began my multimedia marketing journey in 2015 with my high school’s broadcast and journalism class, where I produced morning announcements, short films for local festivals, and a Kmart ad for a scholarship contest. In college, I honed my skills in digital media production, mastering Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop. During this time, I entered an original piece into the Maryland State Police Public Service Announcement competition and won second place for my work in making the community aware of carjackins. I also gained experience in podcasting through an audio production class. As co-host and graphic designer for our podcast, I contributed to reaching an audience of 20 listeners per episode, significantly enhancing my public speaking skills—find us on Spotify.
During my internship at Meela Belle’s Boutique in 2020-2023, I developed my expertise in brand awareness and digital advertising. I created engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter using Canva and CapCut, which increased our followers and interactions. Within a week of launching the online brand, we achieved $1K in revenue from selling bonnets, lashes, clothing, and wigs.
Additionally, I provided freelance services to local businesses, assisting them in launching their Instagram pages by creating highlights and at least three posts each. I successfully increased their followers to at least 50 within the first two weeks, with an average engagement rate of 80%.
On my personal social media accounts, I leveraged Instagram’s boost post feature, understood my target audience, and analyzed hashtag performance to create several reels averaging 1K-5K views. My first viral Instagram post reached 26K views. Applying similar strategies on TikTok, one of my videos garnered 3K views, and my first viral post achieved 65K views, where I reviewed and rated local restaurants.
